Til is the social network for passions. We’re building the destination for live interactive video, where curious people go to connect, learn, and have fun reaching their full potential.

We’re starting by building a social marketplace where creators teach fans in weekly live classes, starting with guitar. There are more than 50 million creators, and most of them struggle to get by with their following alone. We’re changing that so that more people can make a living doing what they love. The average creator on Til makes over $500 per hour of teaching every week, and we hope to grow that number over time.

Since launching our first classes in late 2021, we’ve seen great traction and recently closed a $5.6M seed round led by Craft Ventures with participation from folks like Ryan Tedder, Kevin Lin (Twitch cofounder), and Gokul Rajaram (Coinbase, DoorDash).

Your role

The Go-to-Market team at Til is responsible for the growth of our student and teacher base and expansion into new class categories.

As our first Go to Market Manager, you’ll be responsible for fully owning a business unit and managing a creator partnerships and marketing team to ensure the success of the music category on Til.

This role requires a great deal of ownership and hustle, spanning both teacher acquisition for the supply side and student acquisition for the demand side of our marketplace. You will manage creator partnerships and marketing to ensure the success of your category. Success looks like getting to liquidity in a given category to create healthy flywheels that make the marketplace to thrive, before moving onto the next one. You’ll have an incredible amount of autonomy and ownership in this role.

What you'll do

  • Drive the success of entire categories on Til, starting with guitar.
  • Get your hands dirty first. Build and pursue a pipeline of teachers in your category across creators, experts, and local shops. Execute creative demand gen tactics.
  • Reach out and partner with large teachers and influencers to get them to teach on Til
  • Onboard new teachers to Til and set them up for success on the platform
  • Once established, hire and manage a team of strong Creator Partnerships Managers and Marketing Managers within your product category, and optionally transition to a new category.
  • Define and monitor key success metrics in the category and ensure there’s sufficient liquidity for a healthy ecosystem. Regularly hit company goals.
  • Develop a tiered strategy for creators; focusing on a handful of high impact, large teachers while maintaining a consistent stream of creators with smaller followings.
  • Test new approaches to acquiring teachers and students, constantly tracking, analyzing, and iterating.
  • Build and develop Go-to-Market playbooks and documentation.
  • Stay close to teachers and students to understand user needs and provide the product team with key user insights and problems to solve.
  • Flex as needed to help with other parts of the business like student support, safety, and community marketing.

You may be a good fit if…

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in sales, partnerships, or marketing.
  • You have experience working on a marketplace or two-sided platform where you’ve had to balance the needs of multiple parties.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup, creator-focused platform, or marketplace.
  • You are a world-class leader with experience hiring, managing, and developing a team
  • You are scrappy and comfortable operating as a team of 1, and you will get in the weeds to produce results in a highly ambiguous environment with limited guidance. No job is too small.
  • You are deeply analytical and comfortable using data to make informed actionable decisions
  • You’re hungry to win and enjoy the hustle. Time is our most valuable resource, and to build something world-changing will require moving uncomfortably fast.
  • Are comfortable working exceptionally fast in an ambiguous work environment.
  • You’re excited to learn and do the best work of your life.

Nice to have

  • Marketplace, live video, or social experience
  • An existing network of creators within a Til product category.
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Passion for creator communities and/or existing Til product categories (e.g. guitar, music production).

Our compensation philosophy

We target the 75th-percentile of the market for both cash and equity. When we make an offer, we are fully transparent about sharing the compensation data we use to set compensation. We think being objective and open is best for creating an equitable culture where we can stay focused on building something incredible.
