Product Designer (first one!)
San Francisco
Who we are
Til is the creativity social network. We’re building the destination for live interactive video, where passionate people go to connect, create, and have fun reaching their full potential.
We’re starting by building a social marketplace where creators teach fans in weekly live classes. There are more than 50 million creators, and most of them struggle to get by with their following alone. We’re changing that so that more people can make a living doing what they love. The average creator on Til makes over $500 per hour of teaching every week, and we hope to grow that number over time.
Since launching our first classes in late 2021, we’ve seen great traction and recently closed a seed round led by Craft Ventures with participation from folks like Ryan Tedder, Kevin Lin (Twitch cofounder), and Gokul Rajaram (Coinbase, DoorDash).
Your role
We're looking for our first product designer with extraordinary visual and interaction design skills to be a foundational member of our team. The ideal candidate is creative, pragmatic, and user obsessed, who gets energized by a fast-paced and constantly changing environment with a high pace of learning.
Right now our product feels more like a marketplace than a social platform, and we need to close that gap to build a more retentive product that feels more social. You’ll invent new paradigms for content creation and consumption, just like Instagram did with photos, Snapchat with stories, and TikTok with videos. Your work will be mobile first, and you will design our mobile product and design system from the ground up.
We're looking for a thought partner who is motivated by the opportunity to build an iconic consumer product that will shape the future of creativity.
What you'll do
- Be responsible for all things design at Til as our first designer
- Design and craft intuitive, human-centric flows and experiences on iOS, Android, and Web.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes and visuals to bring designs to life.
- Partner closely with our founder on product decisions and strategy, and with engineers when it comes time to build
- Have the time of your life being part of something bigger than yourself.
You may be a good fit if…
- You have an impressive portfolio demonstrating strong UI/UX design, prototyping, visual design, typography, and visual hierarchy
- You’re an entrepreneur at heart and have designed side projects, started a company, or created something from nothing.
- You’re excited to explore new design paradigms and refine your work until it’s pixel-perfect.
- You enjoy working with engineers and doing deep product thinking
- You listen to users and iterate quickly based on their feedback
- You’re hungry to win and enjoy the hustle. Time is our most valuable resource, and to build something world-changing will require moving uncomfortably fast.
- Are comfortable with uncertainty, ambiguity, and making difficult tradeoffs
- You’re excited to learn and do the best work of your life.
Nice to have
- Marketplace, live video, or social experience
- Experience with interaction, motion, illustration, or brand design
- Experience with prototyping in Framer or Origami
- Experience contributing to design systems
- Comfort with writing product content
